Families in Finland 2018, by language

In 2018, in 85 percent of all families in Finland either both parents or the only parent were Finnish-speaking, while around four percent of the families were entirely Swedish-speaking. Families with one Finnish and one Swedish-speaking spouse made up three percent of all families. Altogether, families of one Finnish or Swedish speaker with other languages accounted for around 59 thousand (four percent) of all families and there were 70.9 thousand (five percent) other language speaking families and single parents in 2018.
