IT spending growth forecast by category worldwide 2020, adjusted for Covid-19 impact

The outbreak of COVID-19, also known as novel coronavirus, has led to revised growth forecasts for global IT spending. The mobile phone and peripheral segments could see the steepest decline with a current projected decline of 5 and 9.8 percent respectively in 2020 compared to the previous year. On the other hand two other segments are forecast to grow more than previously projected due to the coronavirus pandemic. The server/storage segment is now forecast to grow by more than 2 percent (pre-coronavirus projection 0.8 percent). The PC/tablet segment is set to profit even more with a growth rate of 6.1 percent.
