As per the latest data, in the first quarter of 2021, the capital expenditure (CAPEX) of hyperscale operators equated to 38 billion U.S. dollars. CAPEX that was specifically targeted at data centers increased substantially, growing by 31 year-on-year, with Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Apple being among the top hyperscale spenders in 2020.
