Impact of COVID-19 on pet food sales in Italy 2020

During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the sales of pet food and pet care items increased in Italy. In the week from March 23 to 29, the sales value of these products grew by 11.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. As a consequence of the rising number of cases, on March 9, the Italian government announced that the country is in lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus. On May 4, Italy started easing its coronavirus lockdown.
