Italy: mobility reduction due to COVID-19 by region 2020

Since the Italian government has imposed strict rules on people's movement and enforced a national lockdown in an effort to contain the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the country experienced a dramatic reduction in mobility. The regions where people reduced their daily trips the most were Aosta Valley (-64.7 percent), Campania (55.5 percent), and Lazio (54.3 percent). On average the country experienced a reduction in mobility of 52.7 percent. On May 4, Italy started easing its coronavirus lockdown.
