Amid the rising income levels of Chinese consumers, the restaurant market has become more diversified in China. In 2020, hotpot - a beloved national cuisine in China - was the second main dining category in the country, accounting for almost one third of the market share of the restaurant industry. Western-style and casual dining followed with a market share of about 11 percent.
