Brazilian troops assigned to UN peace operations 2001-2021
In 2021, 74 military and civilian staff from Brazil were assigned to serve for United Nations (UN) peace operations abroad. This is the lowest quantity of Brazilian personnel sent to UN peacekeeping missions since the beginning of the century. In contrast, Urugay, the Latin American country with the largest staff assigned to UN peace operations, had over a thousand troops, police officers, experts and other staff members serving in UN peacekeeping missions around the world.
