Brazil: share of population considered functionally literate 2018

In 2018, around 71 percent of people surveyed in Brazil were considered functionally literate – that is, minimally able to read and interpret memos, pieces of news, instructions, narratives, graphs, tables, ads, and other types of text. The functional literacy rate has decreased from a 73 percent share recorded in 2009, 2011, and 2015.
