Average spending on back to school shopping by item Spain 2020/21

The average amount that Spaniards will spend on their back-to-school shopping for the academic year 2020/2021 is estimated at around 630 euros as of July 2020. Of all items, textbooks ranked as the school material parents will spend more money on, with an average of almost 270 euros. Due to the impact of COVID-19, it is likely that some pupils have to stay at home to avoid the spread of the virus, and therefore a laptop has been added to the list of school items to shop for the 2020/2021 year, at an average price of 213 euros. This year was also estimated to be the most expensive for back-to-school shopping according to the most recent studies.
