From April 2020 to March 2021, the United Kingdom government allocated investment funds of around 6.6 billion British pounds to Network Rail, the nation’s railway infrastructure operator, and owner. By contrast, train operating received some 10.2 billion British pounds in governmental support, representing the highest investment volume received by any rail segment in the UK, mainly influenced by the introduction of Emergency Measures Agreements.
