
Estimation of societal and environmental impact of French startups 2018
In May 2017, the President of the French Republic gathered leaders of the main Internet giants to reflect on their impact and possible contribution to the development of society. The economic, environmental and societal externalities of digital companies are not always positive despite initial intentions. In 2018, more than 68 percent of the startuppers surveyed wanted to have a strong societal impact while only 38 percent believed they had a strong and positive environmental impact.
