How many Swedes have been victims of crime? The number of self-reported crime victims overall increased over the past decade, regardless of type of crime. 9.2 percent of the Swedish population reported cases of threats in 2019. That year, 5.6 percent of Swedes registered cases of sexual abuse, while another 3.6 percent reported other cases of abuse. Theft accounted for the least reports, with a share of 1.5 percent.
