Working hours of teachers at elementary and junior high schools per week Japan 2018
According to the OECD Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) in 2018, teachers employed at elementary schools in Japan worked for around 56 hours per week on average. This was the longest of all 48 surveyed countries. That year, the average work hours of teachers of all 48 surveyed countries amounted to approximately 38.3 hours.
