Number of recording studios in France 2017-2019
Record labels are the companies responsible for the recording, marketing and distribution of recorded music, but also finding new talents to promote. If most of the recorded music is produced by one of the "Big Three" (Warner Music, Universal Music or Sony), some labels remain independent. The number of recording studios remained stable in 2017 and 2018 and slightly increased to reach 636 studios in 2019.
