Monthly count of food and drink service jobs in the U.S. 2019-2021
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit the food and drink services industry hard in 2020. According to the source, during the first three months of the year, employment figures at eating and drinking places remained relatively stable in the United States. However, this figure significantly dropped in April to 6.33 million. While the number of jobs increased steadily throughout the year, it did not reach pre-coronavirus levels and ultimately saw another slight drop in December. As of September 2021, the number of food and drink service jobs in the U.S. reached approximately 11.38 million.
