Online travel searches change worldwide 2020

Due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the travel industry, online travel-related searches worldwide decreased significantly in 2020 over the previous year. On April 26, 2020, online travel-related searches experienced the highest drop of the year, decreasing by 34 percent over the same period of 2019. Overall, between mid-March and December 2020, the number of web searches related to travel was significantly lower than that of the previous year.
