Supplementary notes

The source defines the number of international migrants as "the midyear (1 July) estimate of the number of people living in a country or area other than that in which they were born. Where the number of foreign-born was not available, the estimate refers to the number of people living in a country other than that of their citizenship".

It also specifies the following:
- Estimates of the migrant stock for Libya, Tunisia, and Morocco were based on the population of foreign citizens.
- Estimates of the migrant stock for Sudan, Algeria, and Egypt were based on the foreign-born population. Refugees and asylum-seekers were added to the estimates of international migrants.
