
Funding or credit due to COVID-19 among businesses in Canada 2021
As of 2021, most of the surveyed businesses in Canada were approved for or received the Emergency Business Account (54.3 percent). The Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) provides loans of up to 40 thousand Canadian dollars to small businesses and not-for-profits. In addition, some 34.6 percent of enterprises were eligible for the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS). The CEWS is addressed to businesses which suffered a loss in revenue due to the coronavirus pandemic. This subsidy is meant to cover part of the employees' wages.
