Hospital discharges after a circulatory system disease in Europe 2019, by country
Discharges from European hospitals following a disease of the circulatory system varied greatly per country. In 2019, with 4,697 discharges per 100 thousand inhabitants, Bulgaria had the highest number of discharges after a circulatory system disease. On the other hand, Iceland, Cyprus, and Liechtenstein had the lowest number of discharges, with less than a thousand per 100 thousand inhabitants. A discharge occurs whenever a patient leaves because of finalization of treatment, signs out against medical advice, transfers to another health care institution, or on death.
