The Algerian state-owned enterprise Sonatrach, one of the world's leaders in the oil and gas sector, has been increasingly investing in new energies in recent years. In 2019, capital expenditure on renewable energy expanded by an impressive 3,506 percent from the previous year. A growth of 82 percent was previously registered between 2017 and 2018.
