Central government's gross debt as share of GDP by currency in Argentina 2004-2022
Argentina is one of the most indebted countries in the Latin American region. In 2022, the Argentinian central government's debt held in foreign currency represented 53 percent of its GDP, down from 79 percent in 2020. Gross national debt held in domestic currency as a share of GDP peaked in 2005, when it reached 33 percent.
