Number of people cleared for criminal offenses Japan 2020, by charge and gender
In 2020, approximately 88.5 thousand suspects were cleared for theft offenses, of which over 31 percent were female. Compared to other charges, the share of women was highest among people suspected of theft, especially of shoplifting.
