According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2023, around 27.2 percent of respondents believed they had a high or comparatively high chance of moving up the social ladder. Both the subjective perception of social mobility between generations and social mobility within the same generation had shown a decline over the past decade, before slightly rehabilitating.
