EU: trade value of plastic packaging types 2022

The European Union exported 1.7 billion U.S. dollars worth of plastic boxes, cases, crates, and similar articles in 2022. The export value of plastic stoppers, lids, caps, and other closures was 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2022, making it the second most valuable plastic article for the packing of goods exported by the EU that year.
In terms of plastic packing goods imported to the EU in 2022, polyethylene sacks and bags had the highest value, at 1.6 billion U.S. dollars.
