The United States exported 8.32 million metric tons of packaging paper and paperboard in 2021. The largest volume of packaging paper and paperboard exported by the North American country since the year 2000 was recorded in 2018, at 9.24 million metric tons. The United States is the second-largest exporter of paperboard and packaging paper worldwide.
