
Consumer online shopping behavior in Costa Rica 2020
In 2020, about nine out of ten Costa Rican consumers reported purchasing something online in the previous 12 months. Of these, 70 percent stated using e-commerce to save time and avoid crowds. Before making their purchase, nearly half (48 percent) of web shoppers said they reviewed products on Google. Furthermore, social networks have gained prominence as an online shopping channel, with 47 percent of Costa Rican consumers saying they made their last purchase on Instagram.
