Global gaseous state natural gas imports 2015-2022, by country
The United States is the world's leading importer of natural gas in gaseous state. The North American country imported roughly 81.3 billion cubic meters of gaseous state natural gas in 2022. This figure represents an increased compared to 2015, when U.S. gas imports amounted to approximately 78.1 billion cubic meters. That same year, the U.S. was also the second top exporter country of gaseous state natural gas. North America has an extensive pipeline network, with the U.S. importing large quantities from Canada for further processing in their refinery hubs.
