Distribution of art and antique auction sales in China 2020, by city
Auction houses based in Beijing contributed almost 75 percent of all art and antique auction sales in China, making the city by far the hub of mainland China's art and antique auction industry. Auction companies in the southern cities of Shanghai and Hangzhou both generated less than ten percent of auction sales in China, while other cities such as Guangzhou, Nanjing, and Tianjin had even lower figures.
