Before the war in Ukraine that started on February 24, 2022, Russia's natural gas production was forecast to reach nearly 800 billion cubic meters in 2024. After the invasion, the expected production volume was lowered to 734 billion cubic meters. Furthermore, the output was expected to be lower every year until 2030. The difference between gas production projections for 2030 from before and after the war amounted to approximately 100 billion cubic meters.
