As of September 2022, Luxembourg was one of the European countries with the highest volume of non-performing loans (NPLs) per capita, amounting to approximately 3,000 euros. Some of the next countries on the list were Spain, the Netherlands and France. On the other side of the spectrum, Romania and Lithuania were at the bottom of this ranking, as NPLs in these countries were valued at less than 63 euros per person. The volume of total loans per capita in Europe followed a similar distribution across the selected countries.
