Close to 2,800 per 100,000 people aged 85-89 in Australia were projected to be diagnosed with cancer during 2021, an incidence rate higher than any other age group. In contrast, just under 14 per 100,000 children aged five to nine were projected to be diagnosed with cancer in the same time period.
