As of 2020, the Netherlands and the United States were the leading importers of cocoa beans from Côte d'Ivoire. That year, the countries accounted for 24.1 percent and 14 percent of the total cocoa bean exports, respectively. Other main destinations of the crop product included Malaysia, Turkey, Germany, and Canada. Côte d'Ivoire is the leading exporter of cocoa beans worldwide.
