Meaning of sustainability according to consumers in the U.S. and UK 2022

When asked about their perspective on what sustainability means, nearly half of surveyed consumers in the United Kingdom (UK) and about 45 percent of consumers in the United States agreed that it implies that products are made from recycled, sustainable and natural fibers and materials. Around a third of shoppers from both countries also defined sustainability as environmental responsibility.
