Consumers in the UK found leather from calves to be one of the least ethical animal-based clothing material, according to a 2021 survey, with only 6.2 percent of respondents believing it to be ethical. Fur was the material deemed to be the least ethical and sustainable. Roughly two fifths of respondents thought that a plant-based alternative to leather could be described as sustainable.
