People on PrEP treatment in Latin America 2022
As of 2022, Brazil had the highest cumulative number of people that initiated pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) within a group of 12 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, with over 64 thousand patients. Haiti followed, with more than 13 thousand people that took pre-exposure prophylaxis medicine to prevent HIV/AIDS infection that same year.
