Biggest municipal solid waste landfills in the United States 2022, by design capacity
As of 2022, the Apex Regional Landfill located near Las Vegas, Nevada was the largest landfill in the United States in terms of design capacity, with a capacity of nearly one billion tons of waste. The Apex Regional disposal site had more than double the capacity of the ECDC Environmental Landfill in Utah, which was the second-largest landfill in terms of design capacity that year.
