China had about 325 million of monthly active mobile internet users who were over 50 years old. In September 2023, almost two-thirds of these active users lived in the third tier cities and below, the less developed regions in the country. Instant messaging, e-commerce, and short-formed videos were the most popular mobile internet service categories among these users.
