Average value of payment frauds in Portugal H1 2022, by instrument

In Portugal, during the first half of 2022, credit transfers were accountable for the highest value of fraud among payment instruments, registering an average value of 4,059 euros. Direct debits followed with an average fraud value of 499 euros. In terms of bank cards, frauds from the perspective of the buyer reached the average value of 308 euros, while frauds from the perspective of the issuer stayed at 45 euros on average.
