Sogo & Seibu: operating income 2022

In the fiscal year ended on February 28, 2023, Sogo & Seibu reported operating income of around 2.5 billion Japanese yen, recovering from the loss of the previous two years. Sogo & Seibu is a subsidiary of Seven & i Holdings and operates department stores under the "Sogo" and "Seibu" brands.
In 2022, the parent company announced plans to sell Sogo & Seibu, which resulted in a strike among employees at the main store in Tokyo prior to the finalization of the sale, the first reported protest at a department store in decades. The U.S. investment fund Fortress Investment Group acquired the company in September 2023.
