EU-China Relations: negative perceptions of Europe in China and China in Europe 2021

The country in Europe which has the greatest difference between its' citizens perception of China and Chinese citizens' perception of the country was Sweden, with 80 percent of Swedes perceiving China negatively, while only 30 percent of Chinese respondents percieved Sweden negatively. On the other hand, the UK was the European country with the smallest difference in opinion with China, as 63 percent of UK respondents had a negative view of China, only 17 percent more than the 46 percent of Chinese respondents who view the UK negatively. In all cases, European respondents evaluated China more negatively than Chinese respondents evaluated Europe.
