EU: methane emission change by sector 1990-2022

Most European Union sectors have observed an overall decrease in methane emissions since 1990, with the exception of the power industry. The European Union's power industry-related methane emissions were 211 percent higher in 2022 when compared to 1990 levels, and 45 percent higher when compared to 2005 levels.
