Domino's Pizza - additional information
Domino's Pizza accounted for a little under 15 thousand stores globally in 2017 - the number of restaurants rising consistently worldwide over the last seven years. The U.S. based chain is a franchise pizza delivery corporation, primarily specializing in pizzas with a large variety of styles and toppings. Domino’s menu also offers pasta, bread bowls, oven-baked sandwiches and chicken side dishes, as well as beverages and desserts.
The restaurant chain was founded in Michigan in 1960 when brothers Tom and James Monaghan paid just 900 U.S. dollars for a small pizza restaurant called DomiNick’s. A few short months later, James traded his half of the business back to Tom in return for a used Volkswagen Beetle. It is headquartered in Ann Arbor Charter Township, Michigan in the United States.
In 2017, U.S. consumers spent 36 billion U.S. dollars in the quick service pizza restaurant category, with 26.5 billion of this spent specifically in the delivery and carry-out segments. The same year Domino’s Pizza generated approximately 2.79 billion U.S. dollars in revenue worldwide.
