The additions to the United States (U.S.) nuclear electricity generation capacity are estimated to be 4.4 gigawatts every 20 years between 2020 and 2040. No additions to the U.S. nuclear energy capacity were made since 1995, while, only between 1985 and 1990, around four gigawatts of nuclear electrical generating capacity were added to the national volume.
