U.S. food and beverage retailers generated about 850 billion U.S. dollars in sales. Supermarkets and other grocery stores took the lion's share of food and beverage retail store sales, while beer, wine, and liquor stores took the second highest share of sales. Between 2018 and 2020 generally the sales of all formates grew, apart from those of convenience stores which saw a decline in the last year.
