The biopharmaceutical market is expected to continue to grow due to new innovations and the demand for quality medical technologies. Biotechnology is also commonly used in agriculture. Biotech crops in the United States accounts for more than half of the world’s total. With a total of 90.6 million acres of corn crops in the United States, only 6.3 million acres are considered non-biotech fields. Biotechnology also extends into the industrial sector, providing innovation for nanotechnology, enzymes, and biofuels.
