Proportion of GCSE entries that achieved a pass grade in the UK 1988-2019

In 2019 GCSE students in the United Kingdom had a pass rate of 67.3 percent, an increase of 0.4 percent when compared with the previous year. The pass rate for students at this educational level increased from 41.9 percent in 1988 to 69.8 percent by 2011, before the pass rate dropped slightly to the levels seen in recent years.
