Dominican Republic: number of homicides 2014-2018

In 2018, the number of intentional homicides in the Dominican Republic reached 1,068. The number of murders has decreased over 12 percent in comparison to a year earlier, when a total of 1,216 homicides were reported. The level of homicides has been declining in this Caribbean country since 2014. The province of Santo Domingo registered the highest number of murders in recent years.
