News magazines ranked by circulation in the United Kingdom (UK) H2 2016 This statistic shows a ranking of news and current affairs magazines in the United Kingdom in the second half of 2016 based on their total combined circulation figures, i.e. including both print and digital edition sales. Private Eye magazine ranked first with roughly 250.2 thousand copies in circulation, followed by the UK edition of The Economist and The Week, with approximately 235.7 thousand and 206.3 thousand copies sold respectively. Despite the UK national newspaper industry witnessing a general decline, news and current affairs magazines performed strongly in the half-year circulation period following the UK Brexit vote and the election of President Trump in the United States. Circulation of the three leading titles was up year-on-year, with The Economist and The Week both seeing a slight increase. At the top, the Private Eye's combined print and digital edition sales also grew noticeably compared to the previous year, up nine percent. The current affairs magazine retails at 1.80 British pounds per copy.
