Prime industrial rent costs in the UK Q1 2022, by region

The cost of big box industrial real estate in the United Kingdom (UK) ranged between seven British pounds and 20 British pounds across different regions. Big box warehouses include units over 100,000 square meters.

Heathrow rents soar in price

Data collected in the first quarter of 2022 showed that that London and the South East was the most expensive region in terms of prime industrial rents. Prime rent for big box properties was between nine and 20 British pounds per square foot. On the other end of the spectrum, the East of England and Scotland regions offered some of the lowest rents for prime industrial property, with one square foot costing seven euros on average during the same period.

European prime rents

Prime warehouse rent costs in the UK reflect the upper end of the scale on a European basis. Other countries that reflect similar prices in large warehouse rents include the Nordic countries.
