Consumer spending on physical music dropped considerably over the years, and amounted to roughly 280.4 million British pounds in 2022. Digital music spend surpassed physical spend for the first time in 2015, with the gap becoming more pronounced in the following years. By 2022 digital music spending was more than 1.7 billion British pounds.
